Wash
The beauty of the DuPont™ 100% Chinex® Filament on the ProFinish is just how little cleaning it needs you could run the brush under the tap but this is not conserving water. We recommend putting enough warm water into a container to fully cover the brush filaments, add a little washing up liquid. Don't use too large a container as you will be refilling it with clean soapy water several times.Dip and swirl the brush in the water gently working the soapy water into the filament. Pour out the dirty water and replace with clean water. Repeat until the brush is clean. Spin or flick the brush by hand or with a mechanical spinner to remove the excess water.
Dry
Once the brush is clean, we recommend using the ProComb to comb the filament to remove any dried paint from the ferrule to the filament tip and to reshape the brush. This will help to keep the heel of the brush from filling with hardened paint. Combing the brush is particularly important if you use a brush spinner as the bristles can become tangled. After you have cleaned the brush, let it dry hanging on a peg or nail. You can also place it on a flat surface making use of the raised hemispheres to lift the filament a little way from the flat surface and avoid dust collection.
Condition
When the brush is dry, use a small amount of conditioner, about the size of a small pea and gently stroke the filament in one direction (from heal to tip) gradually working through the fluid.
Maintain and Shape
Your new ProFinish comes with a ProGuard to protect the filament from damage or deformation whilst the brush is stored or in transit.
Protect
Following washing, drying and conditioning pop the ProFinish into the ProGuard. This will help to retain the proper shape, will take the knock and bumps of a tool box or bag and ensure your ProFinish is ready for use next time.
